As a professional portrait photographer in Boise, I’m constantly honing my craft. There will never be a time that I won’t strive to provide the very best service and the very best photography. Toward that end, I’ve joined a global group of portrait photographers led by renowned photographer, Sue Bryce. Twice a year, The Portrait Masters fields submissions and judges them. The ultimate goal is to become an accredited photographer. The latest contest received more than 11,000 entries from around the world!
I’m stoked to announce that with my very first submission, the judges awarded it a bronze, which means it is meeting a high professional standard. This particular photo was entered in the contemporary portrait category. The photoshoot happened just a few days before the deadline to submit. So I’m looking forward to entering some more work in the future and getting the opportunity to collaborate with more folks from throughout the Treasure Valley some day soon to provide them with some memorable portraiture.
In this day and age, there’s a lot of uncertainty. It can be frightening. What I’ve discovered is that during these times, we all begin to reassess where we are in life and we learn to appreciate even more our loved ones. This, to me, is the importance of portrait photography: to create work that motivates, empowers, captivates and celebrates who we are, how we’ve endured and our cherished relationships.
Peace to all of you in this time.
